Treasure Hunters #1

Today I got introduced to a new reading site which I am finding very fun and interesting. It is called Epic, and its where kids can read online books that they are interested in. I find it very amusing to do, and I am hoping I can start reading more in my free time. I have just today already done 34 minutes of reading this book called Treasure Hunters #1. There are other parts to this book so I am so exited to finish this one and hopefully finish them all very soon. The chapter I have read already from book 1 was so intriguing and kept me thinking the whole time I was reading it. I'm not going to talk about it until I finish the book so stay tuned for a lot more updates very soon.

Emma Twigg

Task description: This task was a take that I got a few weeks before lock down but never really came around to finishing. So I took it upon myself to finish it off properly. By the way the diet plan at the end is what I think, the diet is based on the sport she does which is rowing.

Advertising Poster

Task description: Our Literacy task for today was to create a poster advertising an item in our hour. As you can see I picked Bug spray. I though it would be a fun and interesting thing for me to do my poster on. I tried my best to point out the cheap price because I've seen on many other advertisements for things, they always make the price stand out so that people will by it.

Persuasive Writing

Statement: Hippos should have to wear deodorant while walking the streets of LA

Hippos, like any animals, can produce a foul odor that is not only unpleasant for other animals but also harmful to humans and the environment. According to studies, the deodorant that hippos are given not only smells good but also improves the environment. It is scientifically proven that this hippo deodorant makes trees and plants grow faster. For example you have a wild hippo walking around, when they come into contact with any type of plant it is proven to actually grow faster.

The hippos benefit from this deodorant because it helps them attract female or male hippos, depending on the flavor. All of the berry flavors, for example, attract female hippos, while others, such as watermelon or apple, attract the males. It's proven that now over 82% of hippos are now using this product which not only leaves them smelling good for other hippos it is also great for humans.

This product actually was proven in a recent study that it helps hippos live longer than their normal life span which is about 40-50 years. It extends that by a few hundred years. It enters the skin cells and goes to it's heart and lungs and makes it better and stronger. It also helps them walk around the hot streets of LA for a long time without needing water around them all the time. It also benefits all of their thick skin by keeping the cells feeling and looking young and wrinkle free.

I hope you now know why Hippos should have to wear deodorant while walking the streets of LA

Task Description: Hello everyone this was my writing task from last week that I decided to finish off. As you can see from the title this writing was a Persuasive piece. Just saying if you can't already tell all these stats and everything in this piece is made up so none of it is real. This was overall really fun piece of writing because we were given a bit of freedom of what we were going to write about which I really enjoy.

Being on Time!

Being early!

Why is it important to arrive at school on time? You've asked, well hear what I have to say about it. Students can develop the pattern of being punctual with powerful benefits by arriving on time to school. It allows you to be even more self-sufficient than if you were late. People that arrive late to school are more likely to  do poorly because they are rushing, which causes your brain to become anxious, causing your entire body to become tense, making it difficult to concentrate. Running late on a daily basis is harmful for your health, not just physically but also mentally.

I hope you now think twice about going to bed early and waking up early.

Task Description: This is an example of one of my attempts at persuasion writing. I talked about being late because it is a thing that both children and adults come across in their lives. Please leave in the comments anything I could work on.

Pyramids of Egypt

Do you know how interesting The Pyramids of Egypt really are? Well read the rest of my information report to find out more.

Did you realize that there are over 100 pyramids on the planet?  Pyramids, as you may know, were created to serve as burial grounds and tombs for Pharaohs who passed, as well as to store their belongings. People were buried in the desert before pyramids were created, and wild animals would dig them up.

They all have treasures of many kinds and dead corpses in them, and the majority of the items are so valuable that people try to break into them. Traps are always used in movies to ensure that people do not pass through to the treasures, and this is 100% true. During the Old Kingdom, Egyptians believed that in order to ensure a successful afterlife, the Pharaoh's body would have to be preserved correctly and that he had to take everything he needed with him on his journey to the afterlife.

I hope you now understand how interesting the Pyramids really are. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. Also try doing some more research on this subject if you are curious about anything else.

Mars Information Report

Did you know that Mars holds the largest mountain in the world? It is 3 times the size of Mount Everest. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It is the second most inhabitable planet in the solar system. It is similar in a few ways to earth such as, the planet isn’t too hot or too cold and many more.

Mars was named by an ancient Roman God of war, the reason why it is called Mars is because it resembles the color of blood. The Mars color is called a Bloody red.

Mars is also known as the red planet because it is made out of iron-rich dust which gives its landscape rusty-red color.

Did you also know that Mars actually has two moons? The names of these moons are Phobos, and Deimos. Phobos is a bit bigger than Deimos and orbits only 6,000km above the Martian surface. Phobos orbits around Mars about 3 times a day while the more distant Deimos takes around 30-35 hours for each orbit.

I hope after reading this information report you learned a few facts about our amazing and interesting planet, Mars. Who knows, we may even end up living there one day.

It is the second most inhabitable planet in the solar system. It is similar in a few ways to earth such as, the planet isn’t too hot or too cold. It is farther from the sun than earth which makes it a bit colder than usual which will definitely have an effect on our body systems.

Breaking down narratives

Task Description: Today in literacy we got into groups of 2 or 3. I was in a group of 3 with my friends Simon, and Petero. We worked together on unraveling these tricky narratives. We had to find things like when they introduced the main characters, where the problem starts, how the problem is solved, and if the conclusion is worthy of being a happy ending.

Explanation Writing

Have you ever wondered why schooling is such a big part of your life? Have you ever thought it was just a big waste of time? Well let me explain to you why it’s so important and why we all need it.

One of the key benefits of schooling is it will help you develop problem solving skills. Also the education system will help you be independent and make good life choices. Life choices are so important because as you become an adult you will encounter a lot of difficult and challenging situations. Another thing that's good about having a good education is it will land you a really good job will provide you with good team work skills, participation, etc.

As said above education will land you a well paid job, and with a well paid job you will have the financial resources to invest in business, afford to buy your dream car, live in an amazing neighborhood, and support your family's future. A good education is also very useful for paying stuff like, bills, taxes, and even student loans.

I hope now you realize how important schooling is for everyone.
