Mean Median Mode and Range

Task Description: Today I finished my task which was all about finding the Mean, Median, Mode and Range.

This task we got given is our first maths task to the term. In maths we learnt about the new way we are going to be learning. I think we are all looking forward to learning about probability for the next few weeks.  

Intro to Pythagorean Theorem 1#

Task Description: Today I am going through my drive and finishing off all the tasks from lock-down that I have missed. This one is all about the Pythagorean Theorem. 

Classifying Numbers

Task Description: Starting this week our math class has started a new topic which is Geometry. 

Versatile Volume

Task Description: This was today's first maths task for term 3. It was more of a recap of Area and Perimeter, but our main focus was Volume. 

Decimal Fractions

Task Description: This task I found a bit challenging with the converting into decimals but my teacher Miss Stone helped me and I ended up getting it really quickly.  

Equivalent Fractions

 WALT: write equivalent fractions.

Task Description: Today in Maths we worked on our Equivalent fractions. 

Convert Between Mixed and Improper Fractions

 Walt: Convert mixed number fractions to improper fractions.

Task Description: We had to do for this task was to convert between mixed and improper fractions.

Creating with Fractions

 WALT: recognize fractions of a whole and of a set

Mathletics T2 Week 1

 Today in class did Mathletics. We got into groups but the twist was we had to be with people that we don't really know so that we can practice our problem solving skills with new people. My buddy's for this tasks were Bradley, Finau, and Lee. We worked together and actually had a really good time. In the beginning of this task I felt nervous to speak because I don't really know these people that well, but towards the end I felt a lot more comfortable with this group, as if I had just made some new friends. I am hoping to do something like this a lot more this term.

Great Graphs?

 WALT: Think critically about the information presented within graphs

task Description: Today in class we learned about Graphs. This task was pretty easy as I did this lat year with the old year 8s. I am thankful that I remember everything from last year and it stuck with me through all the lock downs that have happened. 

Ratios and Graphs

 

Task Description: Today my maths class did ratios and graphs.

Task Description: This is today's maths task which was all about ratio. It was really easy because we did this last year. 

Delicious Division

 WALT: use our knowledge of multiplication and factors to solve division problems

Task Description: This task is all about division. This task for me was kinda difficult but some of them were easy and took me about 5-10 minutes to finish them.  

Presenting Place Value 2

 Walt: identify the importance of place value

Task Description: Today I couldn't join the Google meet because I was helping my mum around the house and lost track of time. I decided to do the work on it and I got it done. I can admit that I found this very challenging but I ended up finishing it after a while.  

Adoring Addition 2

 Walt: Solve addition problems involving decimals

Task Description: Since we have once again moved into another lock down in Auckland we have moved on to online learning. This task was one of the first tasks for Math's they gave us. It was mostly about solving questions using decimals. 

The Deca Tree

 

Today during Maths we did a question called The Deca tree, as you can see above. Our Maths class also learned that study's have shown that people who get thing right in Maths brains don't grow but people who make mistakes brains do grow. Which basically tells us that giving people easier work is bad and you have to be challenged so that your brain will grow. Me and my group worked really well together but didn't actually get a real answer but were on the right track. 

Maths Vocab: Number

 WALT:  describe and define key mathematical concepts

Task Description: Today we worked on our Maths Vocab. This task didn't really take long and was pretty simple. 

Maths Recap Week 3

Task Description: Today we did a Recap of our factors, and multiples. 

Multiplication Magic 2.0

Task description: This was more of a finish it off task because I actually got given it on Monday. This task was easy as I am pretty sure we did this a bit last year.
