Versatile Volume

Task Description: This was today's first maths task for term 3. It was more of a recap of Area and Perimeter, but our main focus was Volume.

Immersion assembly

Today was the first day back to school for Term 3, and if you didn't know on every first day of a term our whole school gets together in the hall to see what our focus is for that specific term. This term the focus is "Healthy me Healthy you". This is mostly about keeping fit and making sure your body gets the nutrients and exercise it needs to stay healthy.

My highlight for the Immersion assembly was my team which is team 5. They were talking about how its not only our physical health we have to be working on to win, it is also our Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, Family and social well being. This goes back to around the start of last year where we started really getting into these topics. Its called "Te Whare Tapa Wha".

My second favorite item/movie was from team 4. There movie was kinda around the lines of if you cheat you won't get anywhere and also keeping healthy and fit. In there movie there were two students who cheated in the race and just skipped to the end and sat there eating cake while the other students actually did the race at their right pace. and it showed them as lazy and unfit but then when they went to their school reunion which was a few years later they had switched up their life style and had become happier and healthier.

Overall I am very happy that we are doing fitness. I think it will really help for future sports and stuff. A big thank you to all the teachers for working hard to help us learn.

Watch this space ( animation)

Task Description:Hello everyone, this is my animation for the second semester of 2021. It was all about my four main planets, which were Earth, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, with some information on the sun and moon thrown in for good measure. This term's theme was, overall, incredibly fascinating and interesting to learn about, and I'm sure that everyone feels the same way. If you need more time, take a break to go through the fascinating information I discovered during my research. Sorry if my voice over didn't come through and you couldn't hear it, but given the limited time we have with the Imacs before they are taken away for the holidays, this is the best I can offer. Hope you enjoy my animation for Term 2 2021 Thank you for listening.

Being on Time!

Being early!

Why is it important to arrive at school on time? You've asked, well hear what I have to say about it. Students can develop the pattern of being punctual with powerful benefits by arriving on time to school. It allows you to be even more self-sufficient than if you were late. People that arrive late to school are more likely to  do poorly because they are rushing, which causes your brain to become anxious, causing your entire body to become tense, making it difficult to concentrate. Running late on a daily basis is harmful for your health, not just physically but also mentally.

I hope you now think twice about going to bed early and waking up early.

Task Description: This is an example of one of my attempts at persuasion writing. I talked about being late because it is a thing that both children and adults come across in their lives. Please leave in the comments anything I could work on.

Equality

The state of being equal is referred to as "equality." Racial equality, gender equality, or equality of opportunity between rich and poor is frequently associated with progress towards the ideal of everyone being really equal. Every person is equal in front of and under the law, and has the right to equal protection and advantage from the law without discrimination, including discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, or other circumstances. People are still battling for multiple kinds of equality today, which I find to be quite sad. I have a feeling this isn't going to stop anytime soon, but I'm hoping it will at least improve in the near future.

KPMG Trip

Last week on Wednesday the Extension group for 2021 along with a few others got the amazing opportunity to go to a place in the city called KPMG. My highlight of the day besides the food was the experiment for my group. We were all divided into teams ours was Earth, and the others were Fire, Air, and Water. Each group was given an experiment to complete depending on their names. We had to make oobleck for our project, which is just a cornstarch and water mixture. When I was making my oobleck, I realized that if you put pressure on it, it would be a solid and then when you lightly touched it, it would be a sort of liquid. Even though it got really messy, overall it was super fun.

Finally, I'd like to express my appreciation to KMPG for providing us with a fantastic trip. And I'm hoping that the next few individuals that join us on the trip will have as much fun as we did.

Pyramids of Egypt

Do you know how interesting The Pyramids of Egypt really are? Well read the rest of my information report to find out more.

Did you realize that there are over 100 pyramids on the planet?  Pyramids, as you may know, were created to serve as burial grounds and tombs for Pharaohs who passed, as well as to store their belongings. People were buried in the desert before pyramids were created, and wild animals would dig them up.

They all have treasures of many kinds and dead corpses in them, and the majority of the items are so valuable that people try to break into them. Traps are always used in movies to ensure that people do not pass through to the treasures, and this is 100% true. During the Old Kingdom, Egyptians believed that in order to ensure a successful afterlife, the Pharaoh's body would have to be preserved correctly and that he had to take everything he needed with him on his journey to the afterlife.

I hope you now understand how interesting the Pyramids really are. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. Also try doing some more research on this subject if you are curious about anything else.

Rugby Auckland Champs

On Wednesday the year 7 & 8 girls took a girls team to compete in the Auckland champs for Rugby Union. We overall did really well and I think everyone should be proud of how we did. Some of my highlights were everyone backing each other up and having each others backs while running. That is actually how I got my second try of the day, I was backing up and running behind my player which had almost got a run away but unfortunately she got tackled so I backed her up by picking up the ball and scoring the try. My next highlight of the day were all the forwards blowing over. The forwards were amazing on the day at blowing over if you don't know what blowing over is its kinda like bridging over someone so the other team doesn't get the ball. And my last highlight of the day was how we didn't give up even when we were down by a few points. All of the girls had positive attitudes even if we didn't get the win we were all showing such good sportsman ship which in some cases is really hard. I just wanna say a quick thank you to Miss Timmi for training with us up and giving us all the amazing inspiring talks before our game, and a very big thanks to all the girls for actually participating and showing up. 21 Sport signs ideas | sports signs, rugby union, rugby logo

Quotes

 Pin on cbv

During the last few weeks we have had sports teams out doing great things and representing us in rippa, basketball, netball and both boys and girls rugby union.

Unfortunately we have had a lot of injuries which can be very painful and this quote is to remind us that “Pain is Temporary” it won’t last  but “Greatness is forever” we will always remember how great you played and that’s what matters. We hope you people get better soon.
