Genius Hour Project 2

Task Description: I have just finished my second Genius hour project. This time my topic was bakers. First I asked myself questions that I wanted to know the answers to, Then I researcher to get the best answer I could. I AM

Task Description: Today for literacy we got a task called I am. It is all about who I am and what makes me me. We had to make a collage with all the things that makes you you. We also had to do an I am poem and if you want to see my collage and I am poem look at all of the slides.

Task Description: Today's task was called Ko te aha tenei ra which mean what day is this. I found this task difficult because I'm not really good at pronouncing the words but I did the best I could.

Task description: Today we learned about what a clause is. A clause has a verb and also has a subject. If you want to see an example it is on slide 2.

Task Description: Today in Maths we learned about Triangles and their angles.

My Genius Hour Project.

Task Description: This task is my Genius hour. My topic for my Genius hour is veterinarian because I have always loved animals my family said and I still do to this day and that is why I think being a veterinarian is a very good career for me. Firstly I asked myself questions and answered them as best I could. I am very proud of my work in this slide show so please leave me a nice comment or something I should work on. 

TAHA CHALLENGE

Task Description: Today we had another Taha challenge. Today's Taha challenge as you can probable  already tell is Taha Wairua. Taha Wairua is all about our beliefs, our culture, and basically all about who we are. Today's task was to write an email or make a card for someone who has been kind, cool, or helpful to you and explain what they did and why you appreciate them. if you go to slide for you will see who my email was for.   

WASH YOUR HANDS

Walt: understand and interpret an informational text.

Task Description: This weeks literacy work is called wash your hands. The purpose of this task was to Understand  and interpret an informational text. If you go to slide 4 you will see a link if you click on it it should take you to the text that we read about. If you would like to see all the rest of the work I did look through all the slides. The Quadrilateral

Task Description: Today in maths we learned about Quadrilateral. A Quadrilateral is a 2D or 2 dimensional shape which has four sides. Feel free to leave me a nice comment of maybe some of the things I could improve or what you thought was good.

TAHA CHALLENGE

Task Description: Today we did our second Taha Challenge. Today's Taha challenge was Taha Hinegaro which is all about your mental health and emotions. This task involved writing down 3-5 things that we are grateful for. Check the rest of the slide show to see what my 3-5 things were.

Instructional Text

Task Description: Today's task for writing is called Instructional Text. This task if you go to slide 4 you will see my create task. The create task was we had to make something showing step by step how to wash your hands properly. If you press on that link it will take you through how I wash my hands step by step. Grouping Shapes

Walt: Group basic 2D shapes based on their properties.



Task Description: Today's task for maths is called Grouping Shapes. I found slides 3 and 4 the easiest because all I had to do was find which shape I thought was the odd one out and why. The last slide I found the hardest because I wasn't really sure how to group them because I could have grouped them by symmetry, How many sides it had, or how many corners it has. But I ended up sorting it out by the number of sides it has.   

Before I forget

Walt: Apply our mathematical knowledge

Task Description: This task was a little hard for me but I tried my hardest to answer the questions as best as I could. One of the questions that I got stuck on was Each week, Jacob earns $350 from his job. If he saves his entire paycheck for 12 weeks, how much money would he have saved? but I ended up getting a final answer. Goodbye Graphs

WALT: communicate findings using appropriate displays

Task Description: This task was basically what we have learned about graphs. If you go to the last slide you will see some questions that I have answers. Please feel free to leave me a nice and positive comment.

STEM AND LEAF GRAPH

Task Description: In this task we are looking at stem and leaf graphs. As you can see on the first side there are stems leafs and then at the end it explains what the numbers mean. The stem represents the tens, and the leaf represent the ones. For example the number 2 on the stem part would be 20 and the 2 on the leaf would be just 2. Then if you add it together you would get the number 22. On slide 2 I had to figure out the lowest score, the highest score, Then range, and then write what I could tell from the graph my answers are up there for you to look at, Then the last slide was a bit tricky for me but I think I did a good job.

NOTE TAKING

Task Description: So this task was all about taking notes. Firstly we got put into buddy's then we got given our own 2 paragraphs to work on. My buddy was Jasmine and our paragraphs as you can see were 3 and 4. So the first thing we decided to do was split the paragraph into word groups. Then we put the main point and the supporting details. After that was all finished we wrote the things that we now know about the topic that we were given. Also if you can't read the image that I have put up then just simply click on it and you will get to read it.
